2022 Election Administration Plan for Yolo County
In order to adopt the Voter's Choice Act, counties adopt an Election Administration Plan which is reviewed by the public and approved by the California Secretary of State.
The Yolo County Elections Office's Election Administration (EAP) was approved by the California Secretary of State on March 7, 2022. This milestone is the culmination of a process of public engagement and review of statewide best practices that created a roadmap for implementing the Voter's Choice Act in Yolo County.
The steps and dates of the process of adopting the Yolo County Elections Administration Plan for the Voter's Choice Act reflect the original EAP adopted in 2022.
Step 1 - Draft Election Administration Plan (EAP) released for public review for the 14-day public comment period. The EAP was released on January 10, 2022. The review period was extended to conclude on the day of the Public Hearing, January 26, 2022.
Step 2 - 10-day Notice of Public Hearing for the consideration of the Draft EAP. A press release was posted on our website and social media pages on January 14, 2022.
Step 3 - Public Hearing on the Draft EAP and the end of the public review period. The Hearing was held "virtually" on January 26, 2022, at 1 pm A number to join by phone and a Zoom meeting link were provided on our website and social media pages.
Step 4 - Publication of an Amended Draft EAP for public comment. The Amended Draft EAP was posted on January 31, 2022. The 14-day public comment period ended at 5 pm on February 14, 2022.
Step 5 - On March 7, 2022, the California Secretary of State approved the Election Administration Plan (PDF) submitted by Yolo County Elections.
